MEMBER REVIEW: This DVD was produced by JTV – a jewelry shopping channel. However, they are pretty good about being accurate and gemnologically correct (unlike others), so this is a worthwhile DVD to watch. It details how diamonds are formed in the earth, then mined and cut for jewelry. The geology is good, as are the graphics. They spend a good amount of time on the geology and chemistry. Then the history of diamond discoveries and mining and so forth. Last is cutting and jewelry. There is lots less hype for buying than I had anticipated. You would not guess it was made by a commercial venture – it plays like a documentary you would see on Nova. All in all, it is quite good.
